Feb. 25th, 2008 12:39 amSo, this is sort of interesting: Marvel Digital Comics. It's essentially a rental service for comics ala the new Napster; you have access to the comics online for as long as you pay the fee.
Compared to actually owning the comics it sounds like a losing proposition, but I'm kind of tempted by it as a sort of online library - sample their archives, figure out what I like, and maybe buy hard copies of the ones that are worth owning copies of. It's also got promise as a sort of research tool - in some ways I could see comic archives like this being the equivalent for comic authors of what JSTOR and the like are for academics.
So, I'm thinking of trying it out. Thoughts?
