Sociogeographical ranting
Jun. 11th, 2005 08:51 pmThis is a good example of why I'm moving to the city when my lease is up: Palo Alto has exactly 1 "Vietnamese" restaurant, and it serves "contemporary" cuisine. There are too damn many yuppies in this town. I should not have to go to Mountain View just to find a pho house.
On a bright note, scads of useless yuppie-stores along University Avenue are going out of business: The antique furniture store is gone and at least 2 of the rug shops are closing. I'm kind of hoping it's the sign of some sort of social shift, but realistically it probably just means that even the yuppies thought there were too many yuppie-stores.
