So much weekend.
Feb. 22nd, 2005 09:39 amThere's nothing quite like getting three hours of sleep, then commuting to work from San Francisco.
Some background:
Friday -- Worked from home due to something like a sinus infection.
flata
independently contracted it too! Decide to visit her in San Francisco
and build a fort to protect against the sinus bacteria....or maybe just
watch TiVo.
Saturday -- Dim sum; Juli's laptop breaks for the nth time and we go to the Apple Store to have it fixed. We are interrupted en route by Chinese New Year, which apparently culminates with a huge, loud parade involving very bright magnesium lights. We stop and wait the parade out. Once in the Apple Store I spot a cute couple from the parade. This amuses me. Also, I somehow convinced Juli to get a 20GB iPod for herself. She seems happy with the purchase.
Sunday -- Recuperating from Chinese New Year and our respective sinus infections, Juli and I spend the day at my place in Menlo Park in quiet contemplation, until late in the evening when we learn of the death of Hunter S. Thompson. This results in much Gonzo journalism and much, much drinking.
Monday -- Juli somehow makes it to her therapist's appointment at 9:30AM despite the events of Sunday night. We spend the rest of the day recuperating from the drinking and Chinese New Year and from the supposed sinus infections. Also, somehow, we end up back in San Francisco.
And in case you were wondering, my nose is still very upset with me.
