Aug. 25th, 2011 02:06 amI'm not Canadian. I don't even live in Canada, although I do live nearby. But I - along with many others - was deeply saddened to learn of Jack Layton's passing. He struck me as a genuinely nice politician, and as he led the NDP to where they are today, he gave me hope for progressive politics here in the US. He was a great leader, a great human, and a great mustache wearer.
So, naturally, I decided it was only fitting to send him off with a twenty-one mustache salute.

So long, Mr. Layton. The world needs more people like you.
