Day 7 - I took a nap on the Royal Palace lawn. It felt both incredibly luxurious and tacky. ...but not nearly as tacky as some of the Victorian-era[1] decorations we saw inside the palace itself. [drawing of grassy hill, with me lying on my back on my coat wearing sunglasses, hands behind my head.] Footnote: [1] Technically, early Victorian and Rococo.

I had not expected to take a nap, much less one on a royal lawn. But this lawn was easily the length of several football fields, and by the time we got from the palace to the fountains at the opposite end, I had begun to despair of ever seeing modern civilization again.

Also, there were ducks.
