Here's my sappy holiday strip, as required by Cartoonist Law. Happy solstice, everyone.
Brain Comics #41
You know, even though I've opted for a more pagan-oriented strip this year, I'd like to think the message translates over well to other December-ish holidays as well. Hanukkah is an obvious example, being the Festival of Lights and all - although I suppose it's a minor holiday. Christmas also makes good use of the "light in darkness" theme - in recent years I've found Isaiah 9:2 to be particularly inspiring:
"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned."
Also, the internets tell me that Buddhists observe December 8th as the day that Buddha reached enlightenment, which earns it the distinction of being a light-related pun holiday. Good tidings indeed, folks, good tidings indeed.
