Nov. 29th, 2007 11:01 pmI have a new favorite* Japanese restaurant in Seattle: Vi Bacchus. Highlights included salmon katsu, 7 different varieties of shochu, and homemade umeboshi.
The proprietor is very friendly - the umeboshi wasn't actually on the menu, but she was happy to oblige my request anyway, if a bit surprised that I asked. Apparently her mother back in Japan makes it and then ships it here.
*This brings me up to 4 favorite Japanese restaurants if you include Chopsticks. I may be stretching the conventional definition of "favorite".
