Doctor-ly things
Apr. 5th, 2006 10:37 amFinally went to see the doctor today about a minor neck/wrist injury from a bike accident in February. She thinks I may have broken some teensy tiny bone in my wrist. She instructed me to have my wrist x-rayed (which I just did) and prescribed me some prescription-strength Ibuprofen. She also told me I should wear a wrist brace for the next week or so. So, even if the rain let up in the next few days, I wouldn't be able to go on any bike rides anyway.
If the x-ray doesn't show anything (and she doubts it will) then I may have to get an MRI. All this for some moderate, intermittent wrist pain. Bah.
EDIT: Nothing bad is showing up on the x-ray, so hopefully a week of brace-rest will help the problem go away on its own. If not, she might refer me to the Sports Medicine department, which I imagine sounds a lot more fun than it actually is.
