I am un chien andalusia
Jun. 1st, 2005 12:06 amSo, the Pixies were good. Not super-tastic, but just good. The venue was half-empty, too. I'm not sure why. From what I heard they weren't even sold out -- no wonder I had a hard time finding people to go.
I ended up going with somebody from work and his girlfriend. The guy from work didn't seem to like the music very much, and was kind of stand-offish the whole night. His girlfriend and I hung out on the main floor and danced and sung and stuff. She had never heard the Pixies, but seemed to really like them.
The Pixies started with Bone Machine and ended with Debaser, and all their old hits were inbetween somewhere. They played Wave of Mutilation twice, once on an acoustic guitar. Oh, and the crowd went absolutely wild when Frank Black shouted out "Hey!". They never introduced themselves, never said anything except "Thank you" at the end of their set.
It felt really good to stomp and scream and dance tonight. I needed to vent, I guess. It was a wonderful distraction from how I'd felt earlier.
