Sep. 11th, 2004 09:51 pmOk, still haven't typed up my old entry; too much energy now.
Today I went and hung out with my new friend Christian who is visiting from Germany (Bavaria) and is here on a contract job. We couldn't decide what to do so we ended up meeting for lunch at Gordo's (my new favorite restaurant! Yay!), then walked for a bit, then drove for a bit, then walked around UCB for a bit, then drove a bit more. All of this while talking of course. 4.5 hours of nonstop talking. Really surprising as he claimed his english was not very good but he kept up with me just fine. We mostly talked about the differences between the US and the EU, especially the education and political systems. Lots of fun, and I definitely learned a lot more solid info on what the EU's really like. Plus I got to shock him with telling him about how fucked up politics is here with stuff like lobbyists writing legislation, etc. I also bought him a pack of gummi bears to settle a dispute over the difference between American and German gummi bears (supposedly they are a German invention :-)
